Who can benefit from life coaching?
Everyone! Life is a constant growing and learning experience, things are always changing, and there are many facets to developing a well-rounded, enjoyable, and flourishing life. Not to mention, everyone has rough spots that can be challenging to navigate.
However, not everyone is committed to the effort required to get the most out of life coaching. Individual life coaching is an investment--it is an investment of time and energy (and yes, money too). Showing up for life coaching sessions is not enough. The ideal client for life coaching is ready for an honest conversation, committed to the process, and willing to put in the work to move forward to meet their goals and realize their vision. Any client must understand that a life coach does not do the work for the client; the life coach who will serve a client best is the life coach who recognizes the necessity of the client digging in and taking action, not "doing for" the client. Another way of putting it: life coaching is for someone who wants to go from point A to point B (or somewhere other than point A), and is determined to get there. The client is the person who walks the path; the life coach helps clarify the destination and steps, provides the tools and strategies to make the journey, and keeps them accountable and motivated along the way, in the context of a supportive and affirming professional relationship.
